Island Lake

   Island Lake is at the end of the Manitowish Waters Chain of Lakes. The lake is over 1,000 acres and has clear water. It isn't deep water, but it isn't as shallow as lakes on other chains either. Since Island Lake is at the end of the chain, it doesn't see as high of an amount of traffic as the other lakes on the chain. Homes on the south side of the lake are close to town. If you are on the north side of the lake it is a longer drive into town. The lake boasts over 14 miles of shoreline and only has about 9 owners per mile. There are more than 7 acres of water per owner on the lake. Island Lake anchors the far end of the Manitowish Waters Chain, offering over 1,000 acres of water with a mix of open basins and island-dotted views. The water is clear and moderately deep, shallower than some of the chain's deepest lakes but not a true shallow bowl, which makes it versatile for cruising, watersports, and fishing alike. Because it sits at the end of the chain, it tends to see less through-traffic than lakes closer to the center, giving it a slightly calmer vibe even on busy days. Its end-of-chain position means it typically sees less through-traffic than the central lakes, which many owners appreciate on busy weekends. South-shore properties sit closer to town, while the north side trades a longer drive for a more tucked-away feel.
