Alder Lake

   Alder Lake is on the Manitowish Waters Chain but feels pleasantly secluded thanks to the mile or so it takes to reach the busier waters of Manitowish Lake. This deep 264-acre public lake offers clear water with almost 12 feet of clarity and an average depth of 16 feet, surrounded by nice vegetation and mixed wooded shoreline. Access from the east side is straightforward and it's a 10-15 minute drive from Manitowish Waters, while the west side calls for a longer drive as you navigate around the chain, giving those owners extra privacy. With less than 11 owners per mile of shoreline, it maintains a low-density feel. The lake works well for pontoons, fishing boats, and paddlers who want chain access without constant through-traffic, making it a good compromise between convenience and a quieter, semi-secluded atmosphere.
