Trude Lake

   Trude Lake is part of the Turtle/Flambeau Flowage. It sometimes has good clarity and sometimes has pretty bad clarity. If you're looking for access to thousands of acres of water it is a good spot. The lake is about twenty minutes outside of Mercer. Trude Lake is a scenic, lightly developed lake just upstream of the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage, offering quieter water with easy access to big, wild water downstream. The lake has a mix of forested shoreline, cabins, and resorts with a relaxed, up-north feel and views that stretch across open water to the flowage inlet. Many visitors see it as a perfect compromise between a calmer home lake and quick runs into the Turtle-Flambeau. It has forested shores, resorts, and cabins, and sits right above the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage, making it a popular compromise between calm home water and easy big-system access. Views toward the flowage inlet add to its up-north appeal.
