Squirrel Lake

   Squirrel Lake is a very big lake with moderate depth and clarity located about twenty minutes west of Minocqua. The lake has good fishing and a pretty Northwoods shoreline. Squirrel Lake is a large, multi-basin lake west of Minocqua with moderate clarity, varied shoreline, and a classic Northwoods feel. Its size and shape provide plenty of room for boating, fishing, and exploring, while a mix of cabins, homes, and forested stretches keeps the shoreline from feeling uniformly built out. Being a bit removed from downtown, it offers a "more in the woods" experience than the core chain while remaining within reasonable driving distance of town. It's a large, multi-basin lake about 20 minutes west of Minocqua, offering plenty of space for boating, fishing, and exploring. Water clarity is moderate, and the shoreline mixes cabins, homes, and stretches of forest, giving it a classic Northwoods feel without feeling overbuilt in most bays. Anglers appreciate its size, structure, and fishery, while cabin owners enjoy the sense of being out in the woods a bit more than on the core Minocqua Chain yet still within reasonable striking distance of town.
