Squash Lake

   There are only a couple high quality lakes south of Rhinelander. Squash is probably the best of them because it gets less public boat traffic. The main reason it gets less public traffic is that the launch takes a little more effort to get to whereas the Crescent Lake launch is right off the highway, Squash's launch is a drive around the back side. The lake is only a quick trip from all the conveniences of Rhinelander. The clarity is 17 feet and the average depth is 22 feet and there are 20 owners per mile of shoreline. Squash Lake is a high-quality clear, deep lake south of Rhinelander, often considered one of the best lakes in that direction because it sees less public traffic than nearby options. The water is noticeably clear and deeper than many southern neighbors, and the shoreline retains a mix of woods and homes that feels more upscale-cabin than high-density development. Its quick drive to Rhinelander keeps it practical for day-to-day living while still feeling like a distinct destination.
