Pelican Lake

   Pelican Lake is a shallow 3,545 acre public lake that is a 58 minute round trip drive from Rhinelander. The water is moderately clear. Pelican Lake is a sprawling, shallow, 3,500-plus-acre lake southeast of Rhinelander with moderately clear water and a long shoreline dotted with cabins, homes, and resorts. It has a classic big-lake, big-sky feel with broad basins, extensive weedbeds, and plenty of room for both serious fishing and all kinds of boating. The drive from Rhinelander is longer than to closer lakes, but Pelican's size and reputation draw anglers and vacationers from a wider region. It spans more than 3,500 shallow acres with moderately clear water and a long shoreline of cabins, homes, and resorts, drawing anglers and vacationers from across the region. It has room for serious fishing, long pontoon cruises, and a full menu of boating activities, though it is a longer drive from Rhinelander than closer lakes.
