Long Lake

   Thanks to some large tracts of land, Long Lake is not as developed as other lakes on the Three Lakes Chain. There are only 15 owners per mile of shoreline. The lake is quite popular so it does have a fair amount of boat traffic during the summer months. The clarity is pretty good for the chain at about 5 feet. The average depth is similar to the other lakes on the chain at 13 feet. Long Lake near Phelps is a quieter, deep, clear-water lake roughly a half hour from Eagle River with a distinctly more isolated feel than many closer-in options. The long, narrow basin and surrounding forested hillsides create a scenic, tucked-away atmosphere where traffic is modest and shorelines feel more like traditional cabin country than resort row. Development is present but not intense, and the drive out deters casual, short-term visits in favor of owners and dedicated vacationers. It's a deep, clear lake about a half hour from Eagle River with a long, narrow basin framed by forested hillsides. It suits buyers who want a quieter, more remote-feeling getaway, trading a bit of drive time for clearer water, less traffic, and a more retreat-like setting. Buyers who land on this Long Lake usually want clear water, a quieter setting, and a "getaway" feel, accepting the longer drive as part of the experience.
