Harris Lake

   Harris Lake is about as far north as you can be in Vilas County. The lake is located near the Wisconsin / Upper Michigan border. Because of its location, Harris Lake is a nice quiet lake that doesn't see much for boat traffic. The waters of Harris Lake are deep (24 ft average depth), clear (17 ft) and a rich blue color. There are about 14 owners per mile of shoreline. Harris Lake is a great lake if you are looking for an old school Northern Wisconsin feel. Harris Lake sits near the Wisconsin–Upper Michigan border at the far northern edge of Vilas County, giving it a truly "up-there" feeling even by Northwoods standards. The water is deep, clear, and a rich blue with long views across open water and a shoreline that remains relatively quiet compared to lakes closer to major towns. Deep, clear, blue water and modest development create long, scenic views with relatively few boats for its size. Because it is off the main traffic corridors, day-to-day boat use tends to be lighter, which reinforces its reputation as a peaceful, old-school Northwoods lake. It is a natural fit for buyers chasing a quiet, traditional Northwoods experience who want a more remote, cabin-in-the-woods experience while still being within striking distance of Manitowish Waters.
