Crawling Stone Lake

   Crawling Stone Lake is a very clear (15 feet), very deep (31 ft average depth) lake. While it is connected to other lakes on the Fence Chain, it does not see as much traffic as typical chain lake. Crawling Stone Lake offers a real Northwoods feel while not being too far away from Minocqua. If you're a gambler, the Lake of the Torches Casino is just a boat ride away. There are about 20 owners per mile of shoreline and a little over 8 acres of water per owner. This very clear, very deep lake on the Fence Lake Chain offers a more secluded, Northwoods feel than many high-profile chain lakes. While it is connected to other Fence lakes, it tends to see less through-traffic, so the shoreline feels quieter and more wooded. It's a deep, ultra-clear member of the Fence Lake Chain that sees less through-traffic than the largest basins, so the shoreline feels quieter and more Northwoods-wild.
